Level II Background Check
If you plan to chaperone a field trip or volunteer on campus, you must complete a level two background check, which includes fingerprinting.
To complete this process:
Fill out the form
Receive email regarding fingerprinting process.
Pay for fingerprinting (Cost varies by location).
Attend your appointment.
Receive an email upon clearance.
Once cleared, you can attend field trips and will receive emails about volunteer opportunities on campus.

On February 23, 2023, the St Johns Classical Academy Board of Directors adopted a policy to comply with Senate Bill 2524, 435.12 Florida Statutes to enhance background screenings within schools. By taking these steps, our school continues to make safety a priority.

Yes. SJCA does require parents/guardians to wear a specific t-shirt for field trips and volunteer opportunities on campus.
On the Fleming Island campus, you can purchase a t-shirt through the Lions Council website and pick it up at the reception building. The cost is $15.

You can visit campus for events, award ceremonies, or to eat lunch with your scholar without this clearance, but if you plan to volunteer or attend a field trip, you must complete the Level II Background Check.

If cleared, it will last for five years. (Note: There is no longer a one-year option).
